Overview1.1 IntroductionThis manual covers all the functions of the products that form KBC Networks’ WES2HTSeries. The WES2HT High Throughput Wireless Ethernet System is a wirelesstransmission system that provides a cable less transmission path for an Ethernetchannel. They are designed for use in a wide range of operating temperatures in non-environmentally conditioned, outdoor applications. The primary function of the system isto replace Ethernet cables where it is not practical or cost-effective or where it is beyonddistance limitations. WES2HT has been specifically designed to transmit constantstreaming video but can also be used to send and receive standard Ethernet datapackets and in some cases, with certain WES2HT models, to operate as a WiFi AccessPoint. The units can be configured as a long range point-to-point wireless bridge or as apoint-to-multipoint receiving antenna communicating to numerous transmittingClient/Station devices. This manual covers all operations and functions of the point-to-point and point-to-multipoint systems.1.1.1. WES2HTThe KBC WES2HT Series is a wireless transmission system that operates in the licensefree 2.4GHz & 5GHz bands and also in the 4.9GHz Public Safety band (only available inthe US). The units are available as PoE or non-PoE with a range of antennas to suitapplications. The units will support useable throughput of up to 230Mbps (400Mbpsaggregate). WES2HT requires CAT6 or above (Gigabit Ethernet Cable).
