- 4 WarningAccording to the applicable regula-tions, the appliance must never beused on the drinking water supply with-out a system separator. Use a suitablesystem separator manufactured by KÄRCHER;or, as an alternative, a system separator as perEN 12729 Type BA. Water flowing through a sys-tem separator is considered non-drinkable.CautionAlways connect the system separator to the wa-ter supply, never directly to the appliance!Note: Impurities in the water can damage thehigh-pressure pump and accessories. For pro-tection, the use of the KÄRCHER water filter (op-tional accessory, order no. 4.730-059) isrecommended.Observe regulations of water supplier.For connection values, see type plate/technicaldata. Use a fibre-reinforced water hose (not in-cluded) with a standard coupling. (Minimumdiameter 1/2 inch (13 mm), minimum length7.5 m). Screw the coupling element (supplied) to thewater connection on the appliance. Push the water supply hose onto the cou-pling unit, then connect it to the water supply.CautionDry runs lasting longer than two minutes lead todamages to the high pressure pump. If the appli-ance does not build up pressure within two min-utes, switch it off and proceed as instructed inthe Chapter "Troubleshooting". Connect the high pressure hose to the highpressure connection of the appliance. Push the spray lance into the trigger gun andfasten it by turning it through 90°. Completely open the water tap. Insert the mains plug into the socket. Turn on the appliance “I/ON”. DangerThe trigger gun is subjected to a recoil forcewhen the water jet is discharged. Make sure thatyou have a firm footing and are also holding thetrigger gun and spray lance firmly.CautionPrior to cleaning, make sure that the high pres-sure is placed safely on level ground. Wear pro-tective goggles and protective clothing during thecleaning process. Unlock the lever on the trigger gun. Pull on the lever of the trigger gun; the devicewill switch on.Note: Release the lever of the trigger gun; thedevice will switch off again. High pressure re-mains in the system.Carrying out the most common cleaning tasks.The work pressure can be stagelessly regulatedbetween "Min" and "Max". Release the lever on the trigger gun. Turn the spray lance to the desired position.Note: Suitable for working with detergent; forthis, turn the spray lance to the "Mix" position.For particularly dirty items or areas.CautionCar tyres, paint or sensitive surfaces such aswood should not be cleaned with the dirt blaster,as there is a risk of damage.– Not suitable for use with detergents.Please use exclusively KÄRCHER detergentsand care products to carry out the respectivecleaning task, as these were specifically devel-opped for your appliance. The use of other deter-gents and care products may lead to prematurewear and can invalidate your warranty claims.Please obtain information at your local dealer orrequest information directly from KÄRCHER. Fill the detergent solution in the detergenttank (observe dosage instructions on thepackaging of the detergent). Use spray lance with pressure regulation(Vario Power).
