– 5 DANGERNever suck water from a drinking watercontainer.When fitted with the appropriate accesso-ries, this high-pressure cleaner can draw insurface water, e.g. from water butts orponds (max. suction height 0.5 m). DANGERNever draw in fluids containing solvents orundiluted acids and solvents! This includespetrol, paint thinner and heating oil. Thespray mist is highly inflammable, explosiveand poisonous. Do not use acetone, undi-luted acids and solvents, as they corrodethe materials used on the appliance. The standard water connection is not suit-able for sucking in water; hence useKärcher suction hose (minimum diameterapprox. 1 inch) with filter (accessory). Open the water supply. Unscrew the nozzle. Press the lever on the hand spray gun. Switch on the appliance and let it rununtil the water exiting from the spraypipe is bubble-free. Switch off the appliance and fit the noz-zle again. DANGER– Risk of injury! Never use the appliancewithout the spray lance attached.Check and ensure proper fitting of thespray lance prior to each use. Thescrew connection of the spray lancemust be finger-tight.– If the appliance is used in hazardous ar-eas (e.g. filling stations) the corre-sponding safety regulations must beobserved.– Place the appliance on firm, even sur-face. CAUTIONClean engines only at places with correspond-ing oil separators (environmental safety). Open the water supply. Plug in the mains plug. Set the appliance switch to "I". Unlock the safety lock at the hand-spray gun by pressing it. Press the lever on the hand spray gun. DANGERLong hours of using the appliance cancause circulation problems in the hands onaccount of vibrations.It is not possible to specify a generally validoperation time, since this depends on sev-eral factors:– Proneness to blood circulation deficien-cies (cold, numb fingers).– Low ambient temperature. Wear warmgloves to protect hands.– A firm grip impedes blood circulation.– Continuous operation is worse than anoperation interrupted by pauses.In case of regular, long-term operation ofthe device and in case of repeated occur-rence of the symptoms (e.g. cold, numb fin-gers) please consult a physician. WARNINGThe water jet that is emitted from the high-pressure nozzle results in a repulsion pow-er acting on the hand spray gun.
