58ENGLISHTo keep discs cleanA dirty disc may not play correctly.If a disc does become dirty, wipe it witha soft cloth in a straight line from centerto edge.• Do not use any solvents (for example, conventionalrecord cleaner, spray, thinner, benzine, etc.) to cleandiscs.To play new discsNew discs may have some rough spotsaround the inner and outer edges. If sucha disc is used, this unit may reject the disc.To remove these rough spots, rub theedges with a pencil or ball-point pen, etc.Do not use the following discs:Single CD (8 cm disc) Warped discSticker and sticker residue Stick-on labelUnusual shapeC-thru Disc (semi-transparent disc)Transparent or semi-transparent parts on itsrecording areaCaution on cleaning the unitDo not use anysolvent (for example,thinner, benzine,etc.), detergent, orinsecticide. This maydamage the monitor or the unit.Recommended cleaning method:Gently wipe the panel with a soft, dry cloth.How to clean the connectorFrequent detachment will deteriorate the connectors.To minimize this possibility, periodically wipe theconnectors with a cottonswab or cloth moistenedwith alcohol, beingcareful not to damage theconnectors.Moisture condensationMoisture may condense on the lens inside the unit inthe following cases:• After starting the heater in the car.• If it becomes very humid inside the car.Should this occur, the unit may malfunction. In thiscase, eject the disc and leave the unit turned on for afew hours until the moisture evaporates.How to handle discsWhen removing a disc from its case, press down thecenter holder of the case and lift the disc out, holding itby the edges.• Always hold the disc by the edges.Do not touch its recording surface.When storing a disc in its case,gently insert the disc around the centerholder (with the printed surface facingup).• Make sure to store discs in their cases after use.Center holderMaintenanceConnectors
