19Using the TV’s menuENGLISHEXT SETTING S-IN (S-VIDEO input)When connecting a device (such as S-VHS VCR) whichenables an S-VIDEO signal (Y/C signal) to be output, youcan enjoy high-quality picture of the S-VIDEO signal (Y/Csignal).Preparation:• First, read the Device Instruction Manual and“Additional preparation” on page 30 to connect thedevice to the TV properly. Second, follow the DeviceInstruction Manual to set the device so that a S-VIDEOsignal (Y/C signal) can be output to the TV.• Do not set S-IN (S-VIDEO input) to the EXT terminalconnected to a device which cannot output a S-VIDEO(Y/C signal). If it is set wrongly, a picture cannot appear.1 Choose an EXT terminal2 Press the yellow button and set the S-IN (S-VIDEO input).Then press the aaaa buttonAn S-IN (S-VIDEO input) mark is displayed. You canview an S-VIDEO signal (Y/C signal) instead of theregular video signal (composite signal).To cancel the S-IN (S-VIDEO input) setting:Press the yellow button and turn off S-IN (S-VIDEOinput) mark. The regular video signal (composite signal)pictures are resumed.• The EXT-1 terminal does not support S-VIDEOsignal (Y/C signal) and you cannot set S-IN (S-VIDEO input) in the EXT-1 terminal.• Setting S-IN (S-VIDEO input) changes the headcharacter from “E” to “S”. For example, “E2” ischanged to “S2”.• Even an device which enables the S-VIDEO signal(Y/C signal) to be output may output a regular videosignal (composite signal) depending on the devicesetting. If a picture cannot appear because S-IN (S-VIDEO input) setting has been made, read the deviceInstruction Manual carefully again to check for thedevice settings. ID LISTYou can have a name for each of the devices connected toeach EXT terminal. Giving a name to an EXT terminalmakes the EXT terminal number appear on the screen,together with the name.1 Choose an EXT terminal2 Press the blue button to display the name list(ID LIST)3 Press the 6666 buttons to choose a name. Thenpress the aaaa buttonThe ID LIST disappears and the name is assigned to theEXT terminal.• You cannot assign an EXT terminal name not foundin the name list (ID LIST).To erase a name assigned to the EXT terminal:Choose a blank space.4 Press the aaaa button to complete the setting DUBBINGYou can choose a signal source to be output from an EXT-2terminal.You can choose any one of the output signal of the deviceconnected to the EXT terminal and the picture and soundfrom a TV channel you are currently viewing to output it tothe EXT-2 terminal.1 Press the 5555 buttons to choose the arrowfrom the menu2 Press the 6666 buttons to choose an EXTterminal or TV.Then press the aaaa buttonThe arrow in the menu represents a signal flow.
