44 ENTURN ON UNIT1 Turn on the cable box, satellite receiver or DVD usingthe Power button on the unit or its remote control.SET BRAND CODE2 1 Press and hold CABLE/SAT/DVD.2 Press the NUMBER keys to enter your unit’s brandcode.3 Press OK, and release CABLE/SAT/DVD. Check ifthe unit's power goes off as it should. If it does, tryother operations (Z step 2).● Once you have set the remote control to operate theunit, you don't have to repeat this step until youreplace your remote control's batteries.● Some brands have more than one code. If the unitdoes not function with one code, try entering another.OPERATE UNIT3 First, press CABLE/SAT/DVD to set the remote controlto cable box, satellite receiver or DVD mode, thenpress one of the following buttons:For satellite receiver and cable box . . ., TV PR +/–, NUMBER keys.For DVD. . ., PLAY, STOP, PAUSE, FF, REW, @ # (4¢)keys.● For some brands, you must press OK after havingpressed the NUMBER keys to enter a channelnumber.● To change the unit’s channels, press TV␣ PR+/– or theNUMBER keys. (The PR+/– button can be used tochange the recorder’s channels only.)IMPORTANTAlthough the provided remote control unit is compatible withJVC satelite receiver and DVD, as well as many other models, itmay not work with your unit, or in some instances, may havelimited function capability.NOTES:●It's not possible to set the two units at the same time.
