13CONTROLSForwardNeutralReverseParkBrakeSteering Control LeversThe machine’s speed and direction arecontinuously variable using the two steeringcontrols. The steering controls can be movedforward or backward about a neutral position. There is a neutral position, which is locked if thesteering controls are moved out. When both controls are in the neutral position (N),the machine stands still.By equally moving both controls forward orbackward, the machine moves in a straight lineforward or backward. For example, to turn right while moving forward, move the right control towards the neutralposition. The rotation of the right wheel is reducedand the machine turns to the right.Zero turn can be achieved by moving one controlbackward (behind the neutral position) andcarefully moving the other steering control forwardfrom its neutral position. The rotation directionwhen zero turning is determined by whichsteering control is moved backward behind theneutral position. If the left steering control is pulledbackward, the machine turns to the left. Use morecare when using this maneuver. If the steering controls are in uneven positionswhen standing still or do not fit in the slots formoving the controls out, they can be adjusted.WARNING! The machine can turn veryrapidly if one steering control is moved muchfurther forward than the other.Park BrakeIMPORTANT INFORMATION Failure to bringthe steering / park brake controls inward at thesame time will cause the unit's safety system toshut the unit down. The park brake is integrated with the steeringcontrol levers. Move both levers out from theneutral position to engage the park brake. To release the park brake, pull both steeringcontrol levers inwards to the neutral position atthe same time. Do not try to operate the unitwithout both levers being inwards out of theengaged position or machine components couldbe damaged.Ignition SwitchThe ignition switch is placed on the control paneland is used to start and stop the engine.
