OPERATINGEnglish – 11Protective equipmentGeneralDo not use the machine unless you are able to call forhelp in the event of an accident.Personal protective equipmentYou must use approved personal protective equipmentwhenever you use the machine. Personal protectiveequipment cannot eliminate the risk of injury but it willreduce the degree of injury if an accident does happen.Ask your dealer for help in choosing the right equipment.Always wear:• Protective helmet• Hearing protection• Protective goggles or a visor• Breathing mask• Heavy-duty, firm grip gloves.• Tight-fitting, heavy-duty and comfortable clothing thatpermits full freedom of movement.• Boots with steel toe-caps and non-slip sole.Be careful as clothing, long hair, and jewellery can getcaught in moving parts.Other protective equipment• Fire fighting equipment• Always have a first aid kit nearby.Power pack safety precautionsThis section describes basic safety directions for usingthe machine. This information is never a substitute forprofessional skills and experience.• Please read the operator’s manual carefully and makesure you understand the instructions before using themachine.• Keep in mind that the operator is responsible foraccidents or hazards occurring to other people or theirproperty.• All operators shall be trained in the use of themachine. The owner is responsible for ensuring thatthe operators receive training.• The machine must be kept clean. Signs and stickersmust be fully legible.! WARNING! Listen out forwarning signals or shouts when you arewearing hearing protection. Alwaysremove your hearing protection as soonas the engine stops.! WARNING! There is always a risk ofcrush injuries when working withproducts containing moving parts. Wearprotective gloves to avoid body injuries.! WARNING! Sparks may appear and starta fire when you work with the machine.Always keep fire fighting equipmenthandy.! WARNING! Read all safety warnings andall instructions. Failure to follow thewarnings and instructions may result inelectric shock, fire and/or serious injury.! WARNING! The machine can be adangerous tool if used incorrectly orcarelessly, which can cause serious orfatal injury to the operator or others.Never allow children or other personsnot trained in the use of the machine touse or service it.
