Mowing Tips• Observe and flag rocks and other fixed objects to avoidcollisions.• Begin with a high cutting height and reduce it until thedesired mowing result is attained. The average lawn shouldbe cut to 64 mm during the cool season and over 76 mmduring the hot months. For healthier and better lookinglawns, mow often after moderate growth. For best cuttingperformance, grass over 15 cm in height should be mowedtwice. Make the first cut relatively high, the second to thedesired height.• The mowing result will be best with a high engine speed(blades rotate rapidly) and low speed (rider moves slowly). If the grass is not too long and dense, the driving speedcan be increased without negatively affecting the mowingresult.• The finest lawns are obtained by mowing often. The lawnbecomes more even and the grass clippings more evenlydistributed over the mown area. The total time taken is notincreased as a higher operating speed can be used withoutpoor mowing results.• Avoid mowing wet lawns. The mowing result is poorerbecause the wheels sink into the soft lawn, clumps build, and grass clippings fasten under the cowling.• Hose the mower deck underside with water after each use. When cleaning, the mower deck shall be raised into thetransport position. Make sure the mower is cooled and theengine is off.• Use compressed air to clean top surface of the deck.Avoid flooding water on top surface, engine and electricalcomponents.• When the mulching kit is used, it is important that themowing interval is frequent.Moving Machine By HandWhen pushing or pulling the mower, engage the IZT(Integrated Zeroturn Transaxle) bypass linkages. The releaselevers are located on each side of the rear of the unit below therear engine plate.1. Raise the deck to the highest (transport) position.2. Pull the release levers up and out of the keyhole slots.Release the levers with the head outside the bracket andheld into the bypass setting.3. To reengage the IZTs to drive, reverse the aboveprocedure.WARNING! Use extreme caution when loading themachine into a truck or trailer using ramps. There is thepossibility of serious injury or death if the machine falls offthe ramps.WARNING! Make no adjustments without:• the engine stopped,• the ignition key removed,• the park brake activatedWARNING! Bypass linkages are located close tothe muffler. To prevent burns, the engine should be shut offand allowed to cool before the bypass linkage levers arehandled.Load the machine into truck or trailer by driving up ramps inlow gear. DO NOT LIFT! The machine is not intended to belifted by hand.WARNING! Clear the lawn of stones and otherobjects that can be thrown out by the blades.20OPERATION
