English – 19SAFETY INSTRUCTIONSPersonal safety• Never use the machine if you are tired, if you haveconsumed alcohol, if you are taking other drugs ormedication that can affect your vision, judgement or co-ordination.• Wear personal protective equipment. See instructionsunder the ”Personal protective equipment” heading.• Chemicals such as degreasing agent, grease andhydraulic fluid can give rise to allergies in conjunction withrepeated skin contact. Avoid contact with the skin, useprotective equipment.• When in use, the machine can generate dust and fumesthat can contain harmful chemicals. Know the nature ofthe material being worked on and wear appropriate dustmask or respirator protection.A face mask is especially important when working indoorsdue to the limited ventilation. In some situations it can alsobe suitable to apply water in order to decrease the dust.• Do not stand on the control cable or the power cable asthere is a risk of your feet becoming tangled.• Do not use remote control with cable steering whileworking or moving where there is a risk that the machinecan topple. The operator must be disengaged from themachine.• An incorrect manoeuvre or unforeseeable incident canresult in collapse. Never stand underneath the workobject.• Never stand where there is a risk of being crushed. Themachine can rapidly change position. Never standunderneath a raised arm, even if the machine is turned off.• When the machine is powered, the fan of the radiator maybegin to rotate. Never put your fingers inside the fancompartment!• Reduce the risk when working alone by making sure thatan emergency alarm is available via mobile phone orother equipment.• When moving on a flat surface you must always walkbehind or at the side of the machine. When working ormoving on a sloping surface position yourself above themachine.OperationGeneral• Only authorized and trained operators are permitted tooperate the machine and its tools.• Never use a defective machine. Carry out inspections,maintenance and service in accordance with theinstructions in the Operator’s Manual.• Rectify any faults or damage that occur immediately.Prevent the machine from being used before the fault hasbeen rectified.• If the machine becomes unoperable, turn off the motorbefore approaching the machine.• The machine has been tested and approved solely withequipment supplied and recommended by themanufacturer.• Under no circumstances should you modify the originaldesign of the machine without approval from themanufacturer. Always use original spare parts.Unauthorized modifications and/or accessories may leadto serious injury or death to the user or others.• Do not modify the machine’s safety devices and checkregularly that they are working properly. The machinemust not be driven if protective plates, protective covers,safety switches or other protective devices are not fitted orare defective.• Make sure all nuts and bolts are tightened correctly.• The machine must be kept clean. Signs and stickers mustbe fully legible.• Follow the machine’s and the tool’s instructions carefullywhen changing tools in order to avoid injuries.• Turn off the electricity supply to the machine before youtake off the remote control or when you leave the machineto avoid the risk of unintentional operation.• Firm handling of the joysticks does not make the machinestronger or faster. On the contrary, the joysticks canbuckle with unnecessary repairs as a consequence.• Do not lift the remote control by the joysticks.Education and trainingNew operators must be trained by experienced operators withthe capacity to use sound judgment when supervising thework.• Practice stopping the machine and locating the stopbutton quickly. Practice manoeuvring in differentdirections, on a slope and different surfaces.• Test the machine’s stability under controlled conditions.Practice rapid evacuation.• On completion of the training, the operator should beproperly acquainted with the machine’s limitations withrespect to reach, capacity and stability, and also be ableto manoeuvre the machine safely.! WARNING! This machine produces anelectromagnetic field during operation. Thisfield may under some circumstancesinterfere with active or passive medicalimplants. To reduce the risk of serious orfatal injury, we recommend persons withmedical implants to consult their physicianand the medical implant manufacturerbefore operating this machine.
