12 – EnglishCONTROL SYSTEMGeneralThe remote control, the electronics unit and the pilot controlvalves are the main components in the control system. Thesignals from the remote control are transmitted to themachine via bluetooth or via a cable. The electronic unit in themachine transmits the signals via the pilot control valves tothe hydraulic system by converting electric current intohydraulic pressure.Remote controlThe machine is controlled from the remote control.Transmission of signals is either wireless, using bluetooth, orvia a cable. The movement of the joysticks is proportional. A smallmovement means that the function moves slowly, a largermovement increases the function’s speed proportionally.Signal transmissionIdentity codeEach machine has its own unique ID code. Upon delivery theremote control is pre-programmed with the machine's uniqueID code. The remote control can be reprogrammed, remated,so that it can be used together with another machine. This canbe useful if a remote control should stop working. Seeinstructions in the section "Settings" under "Tuning" and"Mating Bluetooth® radio modules” for information on how toadjust the setting.Wireless signal transmissionWireless transmission of signals uses bluetooth technology.Automatic frequency hoppingIn the event of interference in the communication, thefrequency changes automatically to guarantee interference-free transmission.Signal transmission using cablesConnecting a cable shuts off the wireless communication. When the machine is controlled by means of cables, the IDcode is suppressed and the same remote control can be usedfor different machines if these have the same control systemversion.BatteryThe battery is a Li-ion type. Operating time is about 8-10hours per charge. Extreme cold impairs the battery’s capacityand operating time. Operating time is also affected by theextent to which the display has been active. To save the battery, the display goes into energy save modeafter 20 seconds. After five minutes of inactivity, the radiocommunication is disconnected, and the remote control goesinto standby mode. Turn on the display by pressing any of thefunction buttons.A message appears on the display approx. 30 minutes beforethe battery is completely flat. It is not possible to activate theremote control if the battery capacity is too low.Charging the batteryBefore using the remote control for the first time the batteryhas to be charged.Charging time for a flat battery is approx. 2-3 hours. The diodeis red when charging starts and becomes green when thebattery is fully charged. When the battery is fully charged thecharger supplies the battery with maintenance current untilthe battery is removed from the charger.Keep the battery charger dry and protected againsttemperature fluctuations. The battery is charged also when the communication cable isconnected between the terminal and the machine. Thebattery symbol on the terminal display shows the chargingstatus. The machine’s softwareContact your service workshop regarding problems with themachine’s software or for any updates that might be needed.
