English – 9OPERATINGAlways use common senseIt is not possible to cover every conceivable situation you canface. Always exercise care and use your common sense. Ifyou get into a situation where you feel unsafe, stop and seekexpert advice. Contact your dealer, service agent or anexperienced user. Do not attempt any task that you feelunsure of!Work safetyWork area safety• Do not use the machine in bad weather, such as densefog, heavy rain, strong wind, intense cold, etc.• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or darkareas invite accidents.• The machine should not be used in areas where potentialfor fire or explosions exist.Electrical safety• Check that the mains voltage corresponds with that statedon the rating plate on the machine.• Inspection and/or maintenance should be carried out withthe motor switched off and the plug disconnected.• Always shut down the machine before disconnecting thepower plug.• Always unplug the machine during longer work breaks.• Never drag the machine by means of the cord and neverpull out the plug by pulling the cord. Hold the plug todisconnect the power cord.• Never use the machine if any cable or plug is damaged,but hand it in to an authorized service workshop for repair.• The machine must never be driven to such a depth inwater that it reaches up to the machine’s equipment. Theequipment can be damaged and the machine can be live,resulting in personal injuries.Grounding instructions• The machine is equipped with a grounded cord and plugand should always be connected to a grounded outlet.This reduces the risk of electric shock in the event ofmalfunction.• The use of adaptors is not allowed with the machine.Extension cords and cables• The marking on the extension cable must be the same orhigher than the value stated on the machine’s rating plate.• Use grounded extension cables.• When operating a power tool outdoors, use anextension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cordsuitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.• Keep the connection to the extension cord dry and off theground.• Keep cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges or movingparts. Damaged or entangled cable increase the risk ofelectric shock.• Check that the cables are intact and in good condition.Never use the machine if any cable or plug is damaged,but hand it in to an authorized service workshop for repair.• To avoid overheating do not use the extension cord whileit is rolled up.• Ensure the cord is behind you when you start to use themachine so that the cord will not be damaged.Personal safety• Wear personal protective equipment. See instructionsunder the ”Personal protective equipment” heading.• Never use the machine if you are tired, if you have drunkalcohol, or if you are taking medication that could affectyour vision, your judgement or your co-ordination.• Never allow anyone else to use the machine without firstensuring that they have understood the contents of theoperator's manual.• All operators shall be trained in the use of the machine.The owner is responsible for ensuring that the operatorsreceive training.• People and animals can distract you causing you to losecontrol of the machine. For this reason, always remainconcentrated and focused on the task. Never allowchildren to use or be in the vicinity of the machine.• Be careful as clothing, long hair, and jewellery can getcaught in moving parts.! WARNING! There is always a risk of shocksfrom electrically powered machines. Avoidunfavourable weather conditions and bodycontact with lightning conductors and metalobjects. Always follow the instructions in theOperator’s manual to avoid damage.Never connect the machine to a outlet if plugor cord is damaged.! WARNING! Improper connection can resultin the risk of electric shock. Contact aqualified electrician if in doubt as to whetherthe appliance is properly grounded.Do not modify the plug. If it will not fit theoutlet have a proper outlet installed by aqualified electrician. Make sure localregulations and ordinances are followed.If the grounding instructions are not fullyunderstood contact a qualified electrician. |
