27LUBRICATIONEngine OilNOTE: Change the engine oil when the engineis warm. Refer to the engine owner’s manualfor the correct replacement oil and filter changerecommendations.WARNING! The engine drain plug islocated close to the muffler. To prevent burns,the engine should be shut off and allowed tocool slightly so the engine is still warm but thesurrounding surfaces and oil are not.1. Park on a level surface. Apply park brake.2. Clean the dirt and debris from the area aroundthe oil fill cap.3. Remove the cap/dipstick.4. Locate the drain hose at the left rear of theengine near the bypass linkage.5. Place an adequately sized container underthe end of the drain hose and remove the oildrain plug.6. Let the oil to fully drain from the engine.7. Replace the drain hose plug and tightensecurely.8. Fill the engine with new oil to the bottom ofthe fill tube threads. Check the level with thedipstick.9. Replace the oil fill cap securely when the oillevel is FULL.10. Refer to the Service Journal for oil checkingand changing intervals.TransmissionThe transmission is maintenance free withno need for level checks or oil changes. If aleak occurs, replace the unit or contact yourHusqvarna dealer.Wheel and Deck ZerksUse only good quality bearing grease. Greasefrom well-known brand names (petrochemicalcompanies, etc.) usually maintains a good quality.Front Wheel MountLubricate 3-4 strokes with a grease gun on eachset of wheel bearings.Front Wheel BearingsLubricate 3-4 strokes with a grease gun on eachset of wheel bearings.Deck SpindlesLower the cutting deck completely. Lubricate witha grease gun, 2-3 strokes per spindle through theopenings in the belt shields.
