To clean and lubricate the blades1. Clean the blades from unwanted materials beforeand after you use the product.2. Lubricate the blades before long periods of storage.Note: Speak to your servicing dealer for moreinformation about recommended cleaning agents andlubricants.To examine the blades1. Remove the cap on the gear housing.2. Make sure that the blades move freely. Put thecombination wrench in the gear housing and turnclockwise and counterclockwise.3. Examine the edges of the blades for damages anddeformation.4. Use a file to remove burrs on the blades.TroubleshootingTroubleshootingThe engine does not startProblem Possible cause Recommended stepStarter pawls The starter pawls cannotmove freely.Adjust or replace the starter pawls.Clean around the starter pawls.Speak to an approved servicing dealer.Fuel tank Incorrect fuel type. Drain it and use correct fuel.Carburetor Incorrect idle speed. Adjust the idle speed.No spark The spark plug is dirty orwet.Make sure that the spark plug is dry and clean.Incorrect electrode gap.Clean the spark plug. Make sure that the electrode gapof the spark plug is correct. Make sure that the sparkplug is installed with a suppressor.Refer toTechnical data on page 14 for correct elec-trode gap.Spark plug The spark plug is loose. Tighten the spark plug.1073 - 008 - 13
