Fuel mixture

MAINTENANCESpark plugThe spark plug condition is influenced by:• Incorrect carburetor adjustment.• An incorrect fuel mixture (too much or in-correct type of oil).• Poor quality gasoline and/or oil• A dirty air filter.These factors cause deposits on the sparkplug electrodes, which may result in operat-ing problems and starting difficulties.If the machine is low on power, difficult tostart or runs poorly at idle speed: alwayscheck the spark plug first before takingany further action. If the spark plug is dirty,clean it and check that the electrode gap is0.024" (0.6 mm). The spark plug should bereplaced after about a month in operation orearlier if necessary.0.024" (0.6 mm)CAUTION! Always use the recommendedspark plug type! Use of the wrong sparkplug can damage the piston/cylinder.Maintenance scheduleBelow you will find some general mainte-nance instructions.Daily maintenance• Clean the exterior surfaces of the blower.• Check that the variable speed control andthe throttle trigger function in a safe man-ner. Replace damaged parts.• Check that the stop switch works proper-ly. Replace if necessary.• Clean the air filter. Replace if necessary.• 125Bx_sERIES and 125BVx_sERIES:Check that the inlet cover can be lockedin the closed position. Carefully checkthat the fan impeller is clean, especially ifthe blower has been used for collectingdebris (vacuuming).• Check that all nuts and screws are prop-erly tightened.• Check that all the housings are free ofcracks. Replace damaged parts.• 125Bx_sERIES and 125BVx_sERtES:Check that the collection bag is intact andthat the zipper works. Replace it if neces-sary.Weekly maintenance• Check the condition of the starter device,the starter cord and the tensioning spring.Replace damaged parts.• Check the condition of the air intake atthe starter device. Remove debris if it isclogged.• Clean the outside of the spark plug. Re-move it and check the electrode gap. Ad-just the gap to 0.024" (0.6 mm), orreplace the spark plug. Use resistor sparkplug Champion RCJ-8Y or equivalent.• Clean the fan blades on the flywheel.• Clean or replace the spark arrestingscreen (not on mufflers with a catalyticconverter).• Clean the carburetor area.• Clean the air filter.Monthly maintenance• Clean the fuel tank.• Clean the outside of the carburetor andthe area around it.• Clean the fan blades on the flywheel andthe area around it.• Check fuel lines for cracks or other dam-age. Change if necessary.• Change the fuel filter in fuel tank.• Check all cables and connections. Re-place damaged parts.• Replace the spark plug.
