Battery tool use and care• Recharge only with the charger specified by themanufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one typeof battery pack may create a risk of fire when usedwith another battery pack.• Use power tools only with specifically designatedbattery packs. Use of any other battery packs maycreate a risk of injury and fire.• When battery pack is not in use, keep it away fromother metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys,nails, screws or other small metal objects, that canmake a connection from one terminal to another.Shorting the battery terminals together may causeburns or a fire.• Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected fromthe battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentallyoccurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes,additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected fromthe battery may cause irritations or burns.• Do not use a battery pack or tool that is damaged ormodified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibitunpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion orrisk of injury.• Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fireor excessive temperature. Exposure to fire ortemperature above 130 °C / 265 °F may causeexplosion.• Follow all charging instructions and do not chargethe battery pack or tool outside the temperaturerange specified in the instructions. Chargingimproperly or at temperatures outside the specifiedrange may damage the battery and increase the riskof fire.Service• Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repairperson using only identical replacement parts. Thiswill ensure that the safety of the power tool ismaintained.• Never service damaged battery packs. Service ofbattery packs should only be performed by themanufacturer or authorized service providers.Safety instructions for hedge trimmer• Keep all parts of the body away from the blade. Donot remove cut material or hold material to be cutwhen blades are moving. Blades continue to moveafter the switch is turned off. A moment of inattentionwhile operating the hedge trimmer may result inserious personal injury.• Carry the hedge trimmer by the handle with theblade stopped and taking care not to operate anypower switch. Proper carrying of the hedge trimmerwill decrease the risk of inadvertent starting andresultant personal injury from the blades.• When transporting or storing the hedge trimmer,always fit the blade cover. Proper handling of thehedge trimmer will decrease the risk of personalinjury from the blades.• When clearing jammed material or servicing the unit,make sure all power switches are off and the powercord is disconnected. Unexpected actuation of thehedge trimmer while clearing jammed material orservicing may result in serious personal injury.• Hold the hedge trimmer by insulated grippingsurfaces only, because the blade may contacthidden wiring or its own cord. Blades contacting a"live" wire may make exposed metal parts of thehedge trimmer "live" and could give the operator anelectric shock.• Keep all power cords and cables away from cuttingarea. Power cords or cables may be hidden inhedges or bushes and can be accidentally cut by theblade.• Do not use the hedge trimmer in bad weatherconditions, especially when there is a risk oflightning. This decreases the risk of being struck bylightning.• To reduce the risk of electrocution, never use theextended-reach hedge trimmer near any electricalpower lines. Contact with or use near power linesmay cause serious injury or electric shock resultingin death.• Always use two hands when operating the extended-reach hedge trimmer. Hold the extended-reachhedge trimmer with both hands to avoid loss ofcontrol.• Always use head protection when operating theextended-reach hedge trimmer overhead. Fallingdebris can result in serious personal injury.General safety instructionsWARNING: Read the warninginstructions that follow before you use theproduct.• Remove the battery to prevent the product frombeing started by accident.• This product is a dangerous tool if you are notcareful or if you use the product incorrectly. Do the safety checks, maintenance andservice instructions described in this manual.• Children should be supervised to ensure that theydo not play with the product.
