Secure the chain saw byattaching a safety line to the fixing eye on the chain saw.Wear personal protective equipment. See instructionsunder the heading ”Personal protective equipment”.Basic safety rules1 Look around you:• To ensure that people, animals or other things cannotaffect your control of the machine.• To make sure that none of the above might comewithin reach of your saw or be injured by falling trees.CAUTION! Follow the instructions above, but do not use achain saw in a situation where you cannot call for help incase of an accident.2 All tree maintenance work above ground level must becarried out by two or more persons with the righttraining (see instructions under the headingImportant). At least one person should be on theground to carry out safe rescue procedures and/or gethelp should an emergency arise.3 During tree maintenance work above ground level, theworking area should always be secured and markedout with signs, tape or the like. The person(s) on theground should always inform the person(s) workingabove before they enter the secure working area.4 Do not use the machine in bad weather, such asdense fog, heavy rain, strong wind, intense cold, etc.Working in bad weather is tiring and often bringsadded risks, such as icy ground, unpredictable fellingdirection, etc.5 Take great care when removing small branches andavoid cutting bushes (i.e. cutting many small branchesat the same time). Small branches can be grabbed bythe chain and thrown back at you, causing seriousinjury.6 Make sure you can move and stand safely. Check thearea around you for possible obstacles (roots, rocks,branches, ditches, etc.) in case you have to movesuddenly.
