This mode arms all perimeterand interior zones.• AWG: Average Wire Gauge; the standard by whichwire is measured; wire thickness in millimeters.Standard in the alarm industry is 22awg.B• Backlighting: Refers to the lighting up of thekeypad’s keys and/or display screen• Battery Calculations: To meet certain ULregulations the system battery must have thecapacity to power the system during an ACloss for xx hours; The Fire Control panels havebattery calculations charts that help theinstaller determine the necessary battery size.• Bypass: To temporarily disable 1 or morezonesC• CPU: Computer processing unit; main pcboard• C.S.F.M: California State Fire Marshal; agencylisting for fire controls in California (a.k.a.CFM)• Check: When displayed, indicates that atrouble condition exists• Chime (Chime Mode): When enabled, with thesystem turned off, the keypad will beep 3times whenever a door or window opens up.They must be programmed for a Zone Type of01, 02, 03, 24 and configurable (paneldependant)• CID: Abbreviation for Contact ID• Code: *see also report code, access code• Common Lobby: Some partitioned controlsprovide for a partition to be a “common”partition which employs logic for automaticarming and disarming of the common lobby(ie; Dr.’s office, etc.).• Console: Keypad (a.k.a. touch pad or controlpad)• Contact ID: *See ADEMCO Contact ID• Control Board: The main PC Board (a.k.a. thepanel; control; PCB; or CPU)• Control Software (or firmware): The micro-chip that contains the actual program codethat runs the control panel (a.k.a. prom chip)• Custom Words: Controls that supportprogrammable alpha have a built-inDictionary list, if the word is not in the list theycan create that word as a custom alphadescriptor.
