OPERATION SECTION FOR HF-25/HF-35 & HFR-25/HFR-35Features of Heating OperationsDefrostingWhen the outdoor air temperature is verylow and humidity is very high, frosting willoccur in the heat exchanger of the outdoorunit, which has negative impacts upon theefficiency of the heating performance. Inthis case, the automatic defrosting functionwill come into play. The heating operationwill be stopped for 5-10 minutes to do thedefrosting.Important:Heating operation will cease at ap-proximately 15° F outdoor tempera-ture due to a sensor located in theoutdoor unit. This product does notcontain supplemental electric heat,therefore other means of heat need toused when this system ceases opera-tion at low outdoor ambients.Basic principles and performances• The Heat Pumps absorb heat from theoutdoor air and transfers it indoors toheat the indoor air. The heating capa-bilities through this principle go up/downwith the increase/decrease of the tem-perature of the outdoor air.• When the outdoor air temperature is verylow, the system can be used togetherwith other heating devices. Good ven-tilation should be maintained to ensuresafety and prevent accidents.• The fans of both the outdoor and indoorunits are stopped. During the defrostingoperation, the run light will flash slowly.• During defrosting, the outdoor unit mightgenerate some steam. It is caused byfast defrosting, which is not a perfor-mance failure.• Upon the completion of the defrosting pro-cess, the heating operation is resumed.24
