Should the unit ever need servicing, contact an authorized service location.Television antenna connectors protection (forsystems fitted with TV/cable TV tuner cards)External television antenna groundingIf an outside antenna or cable system is to be connected to your Gateway PC, make sure that theantenna or cable system is electrically grounded to provide some protection against voltage surgesand static charges.Article 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPSA 70, provides information with regard toproper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to anantenna discharge unit, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna discharge unit,connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode.Cable distribution system should be grounded (earthed) in accordance with ANSI/NFPA 70, theNational Electrical Code (NEC), in particular Section 820.93, Grounding of Outer Conductive Shieldof a Coaxial Cable.Lightning protectionFor added protection of any Gateway product during a lightning storm or when it is left unattendedor unused for long periods of time, unplug the product from the wall outlet and disconnect theantenna or cable system.WarningUse of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other thanthose specified in this manual may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
