86 TroubleshootingError messagesThis section lists common error messages that may be displayed on yourmonitor. These messages often indicate procedural errors such as an incorrectkeystroke or a write-protected diskette. Some messages, however, may indicatea problem that requires you to consult the troubleshooting section of thismanual.Error Message SolutionsAccess denied. Try saving to a new file or diskette.Move the write-protection tab over the hole onthe back of the diskette.Bad command or file name. Make sure you entered the right command.Verify the specified drive and try it again. If youare trying to exit MS-DOS to return toWindows, type exit and press ENTER.Base memory [xxx]expansion.This is an informational message only. Noaction is required.Checking RAM on diskcontroller.Your BIOS configuration is incorrect. Enter theBIOS Setup utility, then verify the parametervalues.CD is not recognized.
