Oregon Series Owner’s Manual Customizing the OregonPosition FormatUse the default settings unlessyou are using a map or chart thatspecifies a different position format.To change the position format:Touch Setup > Position Format.Modifying the CompassTouch Setup > Heading.Display—select the type ofdirectional heading shown on thecompass:Directional Letters—setsthe Compass page reading todirectional letters (N, S, E, W).Numeric Degrees—sets theCompass page reading to degrees(0°–359°).Mils—sets the Compass pagereading to mils (0 mils–1000mils).•••North Reference—select the northreference of the compass:True—sets true north as theheading reference.Magnetic—automatically setsthe magnetic declination for yourlocation.Grid—sets grid north as theheading reference (0°).User—allows you to set themagnetic variation value.Go To Line/Pointer (depending onyour unit)—select Bearing to showthe Bearing Pointer, which indicatesthe direction to your destination.Touch Course to select the CoursePointer, which indicates yourrelationship to a course line leadingto the destination (page 11).Compass—select Auto to switchfrom an electronic compass to a GPScompass when you are traveling••••
