12To Select a Direct-To Destination1. Press the direct-tokey. A Select Direct-To Wa y p o i n t p a g ewill appear, with thewaypoint identifier fieldhighlighted.2. Use the small and large right knobs to enter theidentifier of the desired destination waypoint.3. Press ENT to confirm the selected waypoint. PressENT again to activate the direct-to function.To Select a Direct-To Destination from the Map Page1. Select the map page from the NAV page group.2. Press the small right knob to display a panningpointer.3. Turn the small and large right knobs to placethe panning pointer at the desired destinationlocation.4. If the panning pointer is placed on an existing air-port, navaid or user waypoint, the waypoint namewill be highlighted. Press direct-to and then ENTtwice to activate a direct-to leg to the waypoint.5. If the panning pointer is placed on an open locationon the map page, press direct-to and then ENTtwice to create a "+MAP" waypoint and activatea direct-to leg to it.To Select a Direct-To Destination by Facility Name orCity1. Press the direct-to key. The Select Direct-ToWaypoint page will appear, with the waypointidentifier field highlighted.2. Turn the large rightknob to highlight thefacility name (secondline) or the city (third line)field.3. Use the small and large right knobs to enterthe facility name or city location of the desireddestination waypoint. As you spell the facility nameor city, the 400W series Spell’N’Find feature willselect the first entry in the database based uponthe characters you have entered up to that point.4. Continue turning the small right knob to scrollthrough any additional database listings for theselected facility name or city. You can also scrollbackwards with the small right knob if you scrollpast the desired waypoint.5. Press ENT to confirm the selected waypoint, andENT to activate the direct-to function.To Select a Nearby Airport or a Flight Plan Waypointas a Direct-To Destination1. Press the direct-to key.2. Turn the large right knob to highlight the nearestairport (NRST) or flight plan (FPL) field.3. Turn the small right knob to display a windowlisting nearby airports or all waypoints in the activeflight plan.4. Continue turning the small right knob toscroll through the list and highlight the desiredwaypoint.5. Press ENT to confirm the selected waypoint, andENT to activate the direct-to function.DIRECT-TO NAVIGATION
