BMW Motorrad Navigator IV Owner’s Manual Using Hands-free CallingUsing Hands-freeCallingUsing Bluetooth technology, your NavigatorIV can connect to your mobile phone andwireless headset/helmet to become a hands-free device.To determine whether your device withBluetooth technology is compatible with theNavigator IV, go to www.garmin.com/bluetooth.Pairing Your DevicesBluetooth wireless technology establishesa wireless link between devices, such as amobile phone and the Navigator IV. The firsttime you use two devices together, you must“pair” them by establishing a relationshipusing a PIN/passkey. After the initial pairing,the two devices can connect automaticallyeach time you turn them on.To pair and connect, your device and theNavigator IV must be turned on and bewithin 33 feet (10 meters) of each other. TheNavigator IV can be connected to a phoneand a headset at the same time.Initiate pairing from your Navigator IV orfrom your device. Refer to the instructionsfor your devices.When you turn on the Navigator IV, it triesto connect to the last device to which it wasconnected. You might have to set your deviceto connect to the Navigator IV automaticallywhen it is turned on.When your phone is connected to yourNavigator IV, you are ready to make phonecalls. From the Menu page, touch Phone toaccess the Phone menu.Pairing Your Phone Using thePhone1. From the Menu page, touch Tools >Settings > Bluetooth > Enabled.2. Enable the Bluetooth component on yourphone. This might be in a menu calledSettings, Bluetooth, Connections, orHands-free.3. Initiate a search for Bluetooth devices.4. Select the Navigator IV from the list ofdevices.5. Enter 1234 into your phone.Pairing the Navigator IV withYour Mobile Phone1. From the Menu page, touch Tools >Settings > Bluetooth > Enabled.2. Under Phone, touch Add.3. Enable the Bluetooth component on yourphone. Enable Find Me/Discoverable/Visible mode. These settings might be ina menu called Bluetooth, Connections, orHands-free.4. Touch OK on the Navigator IV.
