SafeTaxi is always available for use afterthe expiration date. When turning on the aera, the database initialization indicateswhether the databases are current, out of date, or not available. The databaseinitialization shows the SafeTaxi database is current when the SafeTaxi name andexpiration date are shown in white. When the SafeTaxi cycle has expired, the SafeTaxiname and expiration date will appear in yellow.The SafeTaxi Region, Cycle, Effective date and Expiration date of the database cyclecan also be found from the Main Menu, by touching the Tools > Database.The SafeTaxi database is provided by Garmin. Refer to Appendix C for instructionson updating the SafeTaxi database.5.2 AIRPORT DIRECTORY DATAThe Airport Directory contains airport statistics such as pattern altitudes, noiseabatement information, FBO phone numbers, hours of operation, local attractions,ground transportation, lodging, and services.The AOPA Airport Directory provides data on airports and heliports throughout theU.S. and it is updated on a 56-day cycle. Detailed information for over 5,300 U.S.airports, along with the names and phone numbers of thousands of FBOs can beviewed. This service allows the pilot to plan an overnight, choose fuel stops, findground transportation, etc.Optional airport directory databases such as AC-U-KWIK are also supported. AC-U-KWIK provides complete listings of FBOs, charter companies, fuel suppliers, groundtransportation, maintenance and catering services at public airports across the world.If the AOPA database is in use, the AOPA Tab is displayed on the Waypoint Page. Ifanother airport directory database is in use, such as AC-U-KWIK, the DIRECTORY Tabis displayed on the Waypoint Page.
