They provide the air inlets and outletsthat are necessary for the range to operateproperly with correct combustion. Air openingsare located at the rear of the cooktop, at the topand bottom of the oven door, and at the bottomof the range under the broil drawer, lower ovendrawer or kick panel.[] Use only dry pot holders--moist or damp potholders on hot surfaces may result in burnsfrom steam. Do not let pot holders touch surfaceburners, burner grate, or oven heating element.Do not use a towel or other bulky cloth in placeof pot holders.[] Do not touch the heating elements or theinterior surface of the oven. These surfacesmay be hot enough to burn even though theyare dark in color. During and after use, donot touch, or let clothing or other flammablematerials contact any interior area of the oven;allow sufficient time for cooling first. Othersurfaces of the appliance may become hotenough to cause burns. Potentially hot surfacesinclude the burners, grates, oven vent opening,surfaces near the opening and crevices aroundthe oven door.Do not heat unopened food containers.Pressure could build up and the container couldburst, causing an injury.Cook meat and poultry thoroughly--meat toat least an internal temperature of 160°F andpoultry to at least an internal temperature of180°F. Cooking to these temperatures usuallyprotects against foodborne illness.Do not use any type of foil or liner to cover theoven bottom, drip pans or anywhere in the oven,except as described in this manual.
