The displaywill show the clean time remaining. It willnot be possible to open the oven dooruntil the temperature drops below thelock temperature and the LOCKED lightgoes off.When the LOCKED light goes off, you willbe able to open the door. The word LOCKED will flash and theword door will display if you set theclean cycle and forget to close theoven door. To stop a clean cycle, touch theCLEAR/OFF pad. When the LOCKED lightgoes off indicating the oven has cooledbelow the locking temperature, youwill be able to open the door.26Wipe up heavy soil on the ovenbottom.Before a Clean CycleWe recommend venting your kitchenwith an open window or using aventilation fan or hood during thefirst self-clean cycle.Remove the convection roasting rack,broiler pan, broiler grid, probe,all cookware and any aluminum foilfrom the oven.NOTE: If your oven is equipped with shiny,silver-colored oven racks, remove thembefore you begin the self-clean cycle. If your oven is equipped with grayporcelain-coated oven racks, theymay be left in the oven during theself-clean cycle.The shiny, silver-colored oven racks(on some models) and the convectionroasting rack can be self-cleaned, but theywill darken, lose their luster and becomehard to slide.Soil on the front frame of the range andoutside the gasket on the door will needto be cleaned by hand. Clean these areaswith hot water, soap-filled steel-wool padsor cleansers such as Soft Scrub®. Rinsewell with clean water and dry.Do not clean the gasket. The fiberglassmaterial of the oven door gasket cannotwithstand abrasion. It is essential for thegasket to remain intact. If you notice itbecoming worn or frayed, replace it.Wipe up any heavy spillovers on theoven bottom.Make sure the oven light bulb cover isin place and the oven light is off.IMPORTANT: The health of some birdsis extremely sensitive to the fumes givenoff during the self-cleaning cycle of anyrange.
