Follow thesedirections carefully to help assure safe andproper maintenance.BE SURE ELECTRICAL POWER IS OFFBEFORE CLEANING ANY COMPONENTS.Care of thecomponentsSome of the components must be cured orpreconditioned before using them for thefirst time.Components and accessories should becleaned after each use. The longer a soilremains, the harder it is to clean. See eachcomponent’s section in this guide for specificinstructions.Brushedstainlesssteel finishWash with soap and water. For heavy soils, firstcover with a damp cloth and let soak 30minutes. A stainless steel cleaner may be used.To remove fingerprints, apply a little baby oilor cooking oil with a cloth or paper towel. Rubin the same direction as the brush marks in thestainless steel finish.Stubborn baked-on food residue or stains onthe stainless steel surfaces can be removed byusing pad-type oven cleaners. For your safety,use extreme caution. Oven cleaners are causticand can damage or discolor most other surfaces.Do not use spray-type oven cleaners. Overspraywill damage nearby surfaces. Use newspaperand masking tape to cover surfaces such asback wall, control panel, range sides,countertop, etc. Remove grates, grill elementor porcelain enamel drip pan.Controlpanel andknobsClean up any spills or spatters with a damp cloth.Remove heavier soil with warm, soapy water.Clean the control panel with mild liquid dishdetergent and a soft cloth. Rub the controlpanel lightly.CAUTION: Do not use abrasives of any kindon the control panel.The control knobs may be removed for easiercleaning.To remove a knob, pull it straight off the stem.Wash the knobs in soap and water but do notsoak.Do not allow water to run down inside thesurface of the panel while cleaning. Afterdrying, return the knobs to the cooktop,making sure to match the flat area on the knobto the shaft.
