278. Press and hold the page button on the base unit until you hear a long toneat the handset.HANDSET X REGISTERED shows in the handset display,whereX is the handset number. You will hear a confirmation tone.NOTE: After you have registered one handset, wait 10 seconds beforeregistering another handset to ensure successful registration.D E-R EGISTRATIONDeregistration cancels registration. During the de-registration process,keep the handset near the base.1. Make sure your phone is OFF (not in talk mode).2. Press the MUTE/PROG button to go to the main menu.3. Press CID/VOL ( or ) button to scroll toHANDSET SETUP.4. Press MUTE/PROG button to confirm.5. If necessary, press the CID/VOL ( or ) button to scroll to theDEREGISTRATION menu. Then, press MUTE/PROG button to enter themenu.DEREGISTRATION? 1YES 2NO shows in the display. The default is2NO.6. Use the touch-tone pad to select1 forYES or2 forNO. Or use the CID/VOL ( or ) button to scroll to1YES or2NO.WARNING: It is not recommended that a handset be de-registered unlessabsolutely necessary because once a handset is de-registered, that handset'stelephone features cannot be used until the handset is re-registered.7. SelectNO, if you do not want to deregister.8. If you select1YES, press the MUTE/PROG button andMOVE NEARTO BASE displays for 2 seconds, thenCONFIRM? 1YES 2NO appearsin the display.9.
