Data communication160Data communicationUsing Bluetooth functionYou can connect the terminal and a Bluetooth device toperform wireless communication or play voice sound ormusic.Note that using Bluetooth connection makes batteryconsumption faster.Wireless communication is not guaranteed for all Bluetoothdevices.✔INFORMATIONFor information on compatible Bluetooth version, profiles, etc., see "Main specifications". P191Full Seg/1Seg sound can be played back with A2DPcompatible Bluetooth device. For operations of the Bluetooth device, refer to the operationmanual of your Bluetooth device.❖Handling precautions when usingBluetooth functionConnect with another Bluetooth device keeping the line-of-sight distance to 10 m or shorter. Distance available forconnection may be shorter if obstacles exist between theterminal and the Bluetooth device or depending onsurrounding (wall, furniture, etc.).Place a Bluetooth device as far as possible from otherelectric appliances, audio visual devices and officeappliances. A microwave oven strongly affects theconnection when it is operated. Connection may not beestablished correctly when other devices are powered on, orthe connection may cause noises on TV or radio or receptiondifficulty.Under strong ambient signals, connection may not beestablished.Radio waves emitted by a Bluetooth device may affectelectronic medical equipment. Turn off the terminal andother Bluetooth devices in a train, aircraft or hospital, nearan automatic door or fire alarm, and at a place whereflammable gases could be generated such as a gas station.❖Radio wave interference with wirelessLANBecause a Bluetooth device and wireless LAN (IEEE802.11b/g/n) use the same frequency band (2.4 GHz), if the device is usednear a device with wireless LAN capability, radio waveinterference may occur, and communication speed may bereduced, noise may occur, or connection may not beestablished. In this case, turn the wireless LAN device poweroff, or move the terminal and the Bluetooth device away atleast 10 m from the wireless LAN device.Bluetooth® communication
