4Using Your Scanner 4-5Removing the Cover for Thick or LargeDocumentsFor thick documents or other materials, you can remove thedocument cover. To do this, hold the back of the document coverbehind the hinge and lift straight up.Note:When scanning with the cover removed, make sure you cover anyexposed areas of the document table to prevent interference from externallight.c Caution:Do not force the cover off the scanner or lift the cover from infront of the cover hinge. Doing so can cause damage to the cover.When you are finished scanning, reattach the document cover bypushing straight down on the back of it clicks into place.Hold the back of thedocument cover andlift straight up.
