Error MessagesYour computer's built-in memory (ROM) contains a series ofdiagnostic programs, called power-on diagnostics, which yourcomputer runs automatically every time you turn it on. Theseprograms check internal devices such as ROM, RAM, the timer,the keyboard controller, and the hard disk drive.When the diagnostics test RAM, you see the total amount ofmemory currently installed in your system. If the computer findsan error, it displays an error message on the screen. Write downthe error message and give it to the person who is helping youwhen you report the problem.If the error is serious, the computer cancels further checking andhalts system initialization. The error message remains on thescreen and the computer locks up. If this happens, contact yourAuthorized EPSON Servicer as soon as possible to report thisinformation and the error message.The Computer Won't StartIf your computer does not start when you press the power button,try the following:1.2.3.Check the power light. If it is an, the computer is on and youshould follow the steps under "The LCD Screen is Blank" laterin this appendix. If the light is not on, go to step2.Pess the power button to turn off the computer. If you areusing the battery pack, remove it and reinstall it. If you areusing the AC adapter, disconnect it and theen reconnect reconnect it.Then turn the power on again.If the computer still does not start, problem is probablycaused by the power source; see "Battery Problems "or" ACAdapter Pobems below.Troubleshoot A - 3
