Congratulationson your new unit!The refrigerator complies with all acceptedtechnical requirements as well as the EUdirective 73/23/EEC (low voltage directive);it has been SEV tested per of the EMVdirective 89/336/EEC and EN 55014.1993.Disposal of the old unitOld units should be rendered unserviceableimmediately (e.g. cut off the power cable).Please ensure that the piping of your refri-gerator is not damaged before it is trans-ported to the proper environmentally-fri-endly disposal facility. For disposal of yourold unit, please contact the appropriatefacilities of your local authorities. (Unfastenthe hinges and remove the doors so thatchildren playing cannot lock themselves inand be in mortal danger).Disposal of the packing materialAll packing materials used are environ-mentally compatible and recyclable.Safety information and warningsBefore putting the unit into service, pleaseread carefully the information given in theoperating instructions and keep themcarefully for use by a later owner.■ Electrical safety must be ensured(contact safety) by the installation.■ This unit is only for household use asdescribed in the operating instructions.■ This unit is not to be used by personswith reduced physical, sensory or mentalcapacity, or limited experience andunderstanding, other than when theyare supervised or instructed in how touse this unit by a person responsible fortheir safety. Children should be supervi-sed to ensure that they do not play withthe unit.■ If you have been supplied with a dama-ged unit please contact your supplierimmediately.■ Do not use an extension cable.■ Repairs and other service work must onlybe carried out by a service technician.■ When cleaning switch off the powersupply; pull out the power supply plugor deactivate the fuse. Never pull theplug out of the socket by pulling on thecable or with wet hands. Always grip theplug itself and pull it straight out of thepower supply socket.■ High proof alcohol must only be storedwell sealed and upright; further, do notstore explosive materials in the unit.Explosion danger!■ This unit is CFC and FC-free and containssmall quantities of isobutane (R600a), anenvironmentally-friendly coolant.■ When operating the unit, care must betaken that the cooling circuit does notget damaged. Should the cooling circuitget damaged then keep it clear of openfires and any type of ignition source. Theroom in which the unit is located shouldbe ventilated for a few minutes.■ A unit with a damaged cooling circuitmust not be put into operation.■ When the unit is in operation care mustbe taken that the ventilation vents arenot covered over or closed.■ No mechanical devices or syntheticmaterials other than those recommen-ded must be used to accelerate defro-sting.■ No liability will be accepted for any pos-sible damage if the unit is used for anyother purpose, incorrectly operated, ornot repaired by a professional technician.
