GAS COOKTOP INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS(For 36" Models with 6 Sealed Burners)72. Turn on Electrical Power and Open Main ShutoffGas Valve3. Check the IgnitersOperation of electric igniters should be checked aftercooktop and supply line connectors have beencarefully checked for leaks and the cooktop hasbeen connected to electric power.To operate the surface burner:A. Push in and turn a surface burner knob to theLITE position. You will hear a ticking noise; thisis the sound of the electric ignitor which lightsthe burner.B. After the burner lights, turn to the desired flamesize. The controls do not have to be set at aparticular mark. Use the marks as a guide andadjust the flame as needed.4. Adjust the "LO" or "SIMMER" Setting of SurfaceBurner Valves (see Figure 9)Push in and turn each control knob to the "LO" (or"SIMMER") setting. The "LO" setting of eachburner has been set at the factory to the lowestsetting available to provide reliable reignition of theburner. If it does not stay lit on the "LO" setting,check the setting as follows.Be careful when performing thisoperation.A. Allow cooktop to cool to room temperature.B. Light all burners by turning each control knob toLITE until burners ignite, and then set them at"HI".C. Quickly turn the knob to the LOWEST POSITION.D. If burner goes out, readjust valve as follows:Remove the surface burner control knob, insert athin-bladed screw driver into the hollow valvestem and engage the slotted screw inside. Flamesize can be increased or decreased with the turnof the screw. To increase flame size turn thescrew counterclockwise and to decrease turnclockwise. Adjust flame until you can quicklyturn knob from HI to LOWEST POSITION withoutextinguishing the flame. Flame should be assmall as possible without going out.E. If you need to adjust another burner, repeat thesteps from A to D above until all burners operateproperly.Checking OperationRefer to the Use and Care Guide packaged with thecooktop for operating instructions and for care andcleaning of your cooktop.Do not touch the burners. They may behot enough to cause burns.1. Install Burner CapsThis cooktop is equipped with sealed burners asshown (see Figure 8).A. Unpack your burner heads and burner caps.B. Place burner head over each gas orifice,matching the head with the orifice size. Becareful not to damage the electrode whileplacing the head over the orifice. Make sureelectrode fits correctly into slot in burner head.C. Place a burner cap on each burner head,matching the cap size to the head size. Eachburner cap has an inner locating ring whichcenters the cap correctly on the burner head.D. Be sure that all the burner caps and burnerheads are correctly placed BEFORE using yourcooktop.NOTE: There are no burner adjustments necessary onthis cooktop.Figure 8Burner CapCooktop SurfaceElectrodeGas OpeningBurner Head
