MAINTAINING OIL LEVELImportant: When adding or replacing oil,ALWAYS use a good grade Hydraulic Jackoil. DO NOT use Hydraulic Brake Fluid,Alcohol, Glycerine, Detergent, Motor Oil ordirty oil. Use of an improper fluid can causeserious internal damage to your jack. Werecommend Mobil DTE13M or equivalent.ADDING OIL• Position the jack on level ground and fullylower the saddle. (Ram will be all the wayin). Remove air vent valve located undertool tray (see Fig. 3 & 4).° Oil should be filled to the level of about3/16" above the inner cylinder as seenfrom the oil filler hole. If low, add oil asneeded.• Re-install air vent valve and tool tray. Thejack is now ready to use.LUBRICATION• Add lubricating oil to all moving parts asneeded.• When not in use, ALWAYS store jack withsaddle and pump plunger lowered all theway down.ANNUAL INSPECTIONTo ensure that it is in optimum condition,annual inspection of the jack at a SearsService Center is recommended.REPLACING OIL• To drain oil, remove tool tray and air ventvalve and open release valve. Turn jackover and drain old oil out through the oilfiller hole.• Refill with new oil through the oil fillerhole. DO NOT allow dirt or other foreignmaterial to enter the hydraulic systemwhen filling.• After refilling, remove any air from thehydraulic system by opening the releasevalve and rapidly pumping the jackhandle several times.• Re-install air vent valve and tool tray andthe jack is ready to use.PREVENTING RUSTCheck ram and pump plunger (see Fig.4) every few months for any signs of rustor corrosion.
