DOUBLEmNSULATIONDoubleinsulationisa conceptin safetyinelectricpowertools,whicheliminatestheneedfortheusualthree-wiregroundedpowercord.Allexposedmetalpartsareisolatedfromtheinternalmetalmotorcomponentswithprotectinginsulation.Doubleinsulatedtoolsdo notneedto begrounded.Important:Servicingofa toolwithdoubleinsulationrequiresextremecareandknowledgeofthesystemandshouldbeperformedonlybya qualifiedservicetechnician.Forservice,wesuggestyoureturnthetooltoyournearestauthorizedservicecenterfor repair.Alwaysuseoriginalfactoryreplacementpartswhenservicing.,t_ VVARNING: The double insulated system isintended to protect the user from shock resultingfrom a break in the tool's internal wiring. Observeall normal safety precautions to avoid electricalshock.ELECTRICAL CONNECTRONYour router has a precision built electric motor, itshould be connected to a power suppmy that is 120volts, 60 Hz, AC only (normal household current).Do not operate this tool on direct current (DC). Asubstantial voltage drop will cause a loss of powerand the motor will overheat, if your tool does notoperate when plugged into an outlet, double-checkthe power supply.SWITCHTo turn the router ON, toggle the switch to the Iposition. To turn the router OFF, toggle the switch tothe O position.SPmNDLE LOCKThe spindle lock secures the spindle while you makeadjustments and acts as a retainer to keep the routerbody from coming out of the base.DEPTH ADJUSTING RINGThe depth adjusting ring allows you to adjust thedepth of cut.LOCKING ARMThe locking arm secures the motor housing in thebase.CHIP SHIELDA clear plastic chip shield is installed on the front ofyour router for protection against flying dust andchips. The shield is designed to fit the opening of therouter base. if necessary to remove chip shield,squeeze the tabs on each end and pull outward. Toreplace, squeeze the tabs at each end, fit intoopening, then release. For your protection, do notuse router without chip shield properly in place.Peel the horsepower label from chip shield anddiscard.VARIABLE SPEEDYour router has advanced electronic features,designed to assist you in getting the maximum usefrom your router. By making proper speed selections,your router can be adjusted to specific routing needs.This eliminates much of the guess work previouslyneeded to perform a given job. Both the experiencedand inexperienced router users benefit, obtainingprofessional like results with fewer job errors.The variable speed control allows the router speed tobe adjusted from 15,000 to 25,000 RPM. Thevariable speed control selector is conveniently locatedon the top of the motor housing.Speed can be set according to the approximate cutterdiameter you will be using and to the hardness of thematerial being cut. The best cuts are made when thecutter is fed through material at the proper rate offeed.VACUUM ATTACHMENTThe vacuum attachment allows you to attach astandard shop vacuum to the router for easy clean up. |
