KNOWTHISTOOLSee Figure 1.Before attempting to use this tool, familiarize yourself withall operating features and safety requirements.TOOL-LESS BLADE CLAMPYour saw has a blade clamp design that does not requirethe use of a tool (blade wrench) when installing orremoving the blade. Simply lift blade clamp lock / release!ever, located on front of saw, insert blade between bladeclamp and saw bar as far as possible, then release !ever tolock position.BLADE SELECTIONTo obtain the best performance from your saw it isimportant to select a specific blade for the particularapplication and type of material you wish to cut. By doingthis you will get a smoother, faster cut and prolong bladelife. Replacement blades for this saw are available fromyour nearest Sears dealer. Sears recommends the use ofa T-shank blade, if a T-shank blade is not available, a highquality U-shank may be used.LOCK-OFF BUTTONYour saw is equipped with a "lock-off" button whichreduces the possibility of accidental starting. The lock-offbutton is located on the handle above the switch trigger.You must depress the lock-off button in order to pul! theswitch trigger. The lock resets each time the trigger isreleased.NOTE: You can depress the lock-off button from either theleft or right side.SWITCHTo turn your saw ON, depress the lock-off button and pullswitch trigger. Release switch trigger to turn your saw OFF.VARIABLE SPEEDThis tool has a variable speed switch that delivers higherspeed with increased trigger pressure. Speed is controlledby the amount of switch trigger depression.BLADE STORAGEWhen not in use, you can place the blades provided withyour orbital jig saw in the storage area !ocated on the backof the saw.ORBITAL ADJUSTMENT KNOBFour position orbital adjustment for fine to aggressivecutting.ERGONOMIC DESIGNThe design of the orbital jig saw provides for easy han-dling.
