Failure to follow all instructionslisted below, may result in electric shock, fireand/or serious personal injury.[] Before using battery charger, read all instructionsand cautionary markings in this manual, on batterycharger, battery, and product using battery to preventmisuse of the products and possible injury or damage.CAUTION: To reduce the risk of electric shock ordamage to the charger and battery, charge onlynickel=cadmium rechargeable batteries as specifi=cally designated on your charger. Other types ofbatteries may burst, causing personal injury ordamage.[] Do not use charger outdoors or expose to wet ordamp conditions. Water entering charger wil! increasethe risk of electric shock.[] Use of an attachment not recommended or soldby the battery charger manufacturer may result ina risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.Following this rule will reduce the risk of electric shock,fire, or serious personal injury.[] Do not abuse cord or charger. Never use the cord tocarry the charger. Do not pull the charger cord ratherthan the plug when disconnecting from receptacle.Damage to the cord or charger could occur and createan electric shock hazard. Replace damaged cords ira=mediately.[] Make sure cord is located so that it will not bestepped on, tripped over, come in contact withsharp edges or moving parts or otherwise subject=ed to damage or stress. This will reduce the risk ofaccidental fails, which could cause injury, and damageto the cord, which could result in electric shock.[] Keep cord and charger from heat to preventdamage to housing or internal parts.[] Do not let gasoline, oils, petroleum-based products,etc. come in contact with plastic parts. They containchemicals that can damage, weaken, or destroy plastic.[] An extension cord should not be used unlessabsolutely necessary. Use of improper extension cordcould result in a risk of fire and electric shock. Ifextension cord must be used, make sure:a. That pins on plug of extension cord are thesame number, size and shape as those ofplug on charger.b. That extension cord is properly wired and ingood electrical condition; andc. That wire size is large enough for AC ampererating of charger as specified below:Cord Length (Feet) 25' 50' 100'Cord Size (AWG) 16 16 16NOTE: AWG = American Wire Gauge[] Do not operate charger with a damaged cord orplug, which could cause shorting and electric shock. Ifdamaged, have the charger replaced by an authorizedserviceman.[] Do not operate charger if it has received a sharpblow, been dropped, or otherwise damaged in anyway. Take it to an authorized serviceman for electricalcheck to determine if the charger is in good workingorder.[] Do not disassemble charger. Take it to an authorizedserviceman when service or repair is required. Incor-rect reassembly may result in a risk of electric shock orfire.[] Unplug charger from outlet before attempting anymaintenance or cleaning to reduce the risk ofelectric shock.[] Disconnect charger from the power supply whennot in use. This wil! reduce the risk of electdc shockor damage to the charger if metal items should fan intothe opening. It also will help prevent damage to thecharger during a power surge.[] Risk of electric shock. Do not touch uninsulatedportion of output connector or uninsulated batteryterminal.[] Save these instructions. Refer to them frequently anduse them to instruct others who may use this tool.
