Knowhowto stop the machineanddisengagethem quickly.Snowthrowercontrolsandfeaturesaredescribedbelowandillustratedinthefigureabove.DriveControlLocatedonthe undersideofthe upperhandle,the drivecontrolisusedto engage/disengagewheels.Squeezethe drivecontrolagainstthe upperhandleto engagethe wheels;releaseto disengage.AugerControlTheaugercontrolisonthe front the upperhandle.Squeezethe augercontrolagainstthe upperhandleto engagethe auger;releaseto disengagethe auger.Nevermakeadjustmentsto thechute assemblyunlessboth auger anddrivecontrols aredisengagedandthe operatorisstanding besidethe unit.IMPORTANT:Referto AugerControlTestin theAssemblysectionofthis manualpriorto operatingyoursnowthrower.Readandfollowall instructionscarefullyandperformall adjustmentsto verifyyoursnowthrowerisoperatingsafelyandproperly.ChuteHandleThedirectionofsnowthrowingcorrespondsto the directionof thechuteopening.Usethe chutehandleto turn thechuteassemblyinthe directionyouwish tothrowthe snow.ChuteEnobThedistancesnowisthrowncanbeadjustedbyeither raisingor loweringthe upperchute.Loosenthe chuteknobon the sideof the upperchuteto adjust.Pivottheupperchuteto desiredposition,andretightenthe chuteknob.Raisingthe chutethrowsthesnowfurther.ShavePlateTheshaveplatemaintainscontactwith pavementasthe snowthrowerispropelled,allowingsnowcloseto pavement'ssurfaceto be discharged.SkidShoeThespacebetweenthe shaveplateandthe groundcanbe adjusted.Forclosesnowremoval,placeskidshoesinthe highestposition.Usemiddleor lowestpositionwhenareato beclearedisunevenor on gravelsurfaces.11
