Never allow adults to operate this machine without properinstruction.6. Many accidents occur when more than one person operatesthe machine. Ifa helper is assisting in stacking logs, neveractivate the control until the helper is a minimum of 10 feetfrom the machine.Z Keep bystanders, pets, and children at least 20 feet from themachine while it is in operation.8. Never allow anyone to ride on this machine.9. Never transport ca rgo on this machine.Hydraulic log splitters develop high fluid pressures duringoperation. Fluid escaping through a pin hole opening canpenetrate your skin and cause blood poisoning, gangrene, ordeath. Give attention to the following instructions at all times:a. Do not check for leaks with your ha nd.b. Do not operate machine with frayed, kinked, cracked, ordamaged hoses, fittings, or tubing.c. Stop the engine and relieve hydraulic system pressurebefore changing or adjusting fittings, hoses, tubing, orother system components.d. Do not adjust the pressure settings of the pump orvalve.10. Leaks can be detected by passing cardboard or wood,while wearing protective gloves and safety glasses, over thesuspected area. Look for discoloration of cardboard or wood.11. If injured by escaping fluid, see a doctor immediately. Seriousinfection or reaction can develop if proper medical treatmentis not administered immediately.12. Keep the operator zone and adjacent area clear for safe, securefooting.13. If your machine is equipped with an internal combustionengine and is intended for use near any unimproved forest,brush, or grass covered land, the engine exhaust should beequipped with a spark attester. Make sure you comply withapplicable local, state, and federal codes. Take appropriatefirefighting equipment with you.14. This machine should be used for splitting wood only, do notuse it for any other purpose.15. Follow the instructions in the manual(s) provided with anyattachment(s) for this machine.3
