Washyour skin andchangeclothesimmediately.• Use onlyan approvedgasolinecontainer.• Extinguishall cigarettes,cigars,pipes,and othersourcesofignition.• Neverfuel machineindoors.• Neverremovegas capor add fuel whilethe engineis hot orrunning.• Allowengineto coolat leasttwo minutesbeforerefueling.• Neveroverfillthe fueltank. Filltank to no morethan 1/2inchbelowbottomof filler neckto providespacefor fuel expansion.• Replacegasolinecapand tighten securely.• If gasolineis spilled,wipe it off theengineand equipmentandmovemachineto anotherarea.Waitfive (5) minutesbeforestartingtheengine.• Neverstorethe machineor fuel containerinsidewherethereis anopenflame,spark or pilotlightas on a water heater,space heater,furnace,clothesdryer or othergas appliances.• Allowmachineto cool at least five (5) minutesbeforestoring.OPERATION1. Whenloadinga log, alwaysplaceyourhandson the sideof thelog, noton the ends,and neveruseyour foot to help stabilizealog. Failureto do so, may resultin crushedor amputatedfingers,toes, hand,or foot.8. Useonly yourrighthand to operatethe controls.9. Neverattemptto split morethan one log at a time.10. Forlogswhich are not cut square,the leastsquareend and thelongestportionof the log shouldbe placedtowardthe beamandwedge,and the squareend placedtowardthe end plate.11. Whensplittingin the verticalposition,stabilizethe log beforemovingthe controlhandle.Splitas follows:• Placelog on the end plateand turn untilit leansagainstthebeamand is stable.• Whensplittingextra largeor unevenlogs, the log mustbestabilizedwith woodenshimsor split woodbetweenthe logand end plateor ground.12. Alwayskeepfingers awayfromany cracksthat open in thelogwhile splitting.They canquicklyclose and pinchor amputateyourfingers.13. Keepyourworkarea clean. Immediatelyremovesplit woodaroundthe machineso youdo notstumbleover it.14. Donot changethe enginegovernorsettingsor overspeedtheengine.The governorcontrolsthe maximumsafe operatingspeedof the engine.15. Nevermove this machinewhilethe engineis running.16. This machineshouldnotbe towedon any street,highwayorpublic roadwithoutcheckingtheexistingfederal,state,or localvehicle requirements.Any licensingor modificationssuch astaillights,etc., neededto comply,is the sole responsibilityof thepurchaser.If a "Statementof Origin"is requiredin your state,seeyour localdealer.
