The use of attachments oraccessories not recommended can result inserious personal injury.Before each use, inspect the entire productfor damaged, missing, or loose parts suchas screws, nuts, bolts, caps, etc. Tightensecurely all fasteners and caps and donot operate this product until all missing ordamaged parts are replaced.APPLICATIONSYou may use this product for the purposeslisted below:■ Limbing and pruning branches from trees.■ Felling small trees up to 15 inch diameter.■ Bucking the fallen tree into shorter lengthsNOTE: For complete charging instructions,refer to the OPERATOR’S MANUAL for yourbattery pack and charger.TO INSTALL / REMOVE BATTERY PACKSee Figure 4, page ii and 7, page iiiNOTE: To avoid serious personal injury,always remove the battery pack and keephands clear of the safety switch whencarrying or transporting the tool.To Install Battery Pack■ Grasp the chainsaw firmly by the TriggerHandle.■ Align the C-slot of the battery pack with theT-rail on the underside of the Trigger HandleGuard.■ Slide the C-slot onto the T-rail until thebattery pack secures into place.■ Do not use force when inserting the batterypack. It should slide into position and "click".CAUTION: Make sure that battery pack issecurely in place before starting chainsawoperation.To Remove Battery Pack■ Stop the chainsaw by fully releasing trigger.■ Insert finger tip beneath edge of batterypack release button and press and holdbutton up.■ Slide battery pack off of T-rail.CHAIN OIL SYSTEMSee Figure 8, page iiiCheck and fill the oil tank when battery isrecharged, or as needed.CAUTION: Remove battery pack from unitbefore checking and filling oil reservoir. Fill oiltank with Craftsman Bar and Chain Oil beforestarting the chainsaw.
