Sweep from side to side with thenozzle several inches above the ground or floor. Slowlyadvance the unit, keeping the accumulated pile of debris infront of you. Most dry blowing operations are better suitedto low speeds, rather than high. High speed blowing is abetter way to move heavier items like large debris orgravel.OPERATING AS A MULCHERHold the vac firmly, tilting the mulcher tubes (2-4 in. or5-10 cm), and use a sweeping action to collect light debris.WARNING: To avoid serious personal injury, do notwear loose fitting clothing or articles such as scarves,strings, chains, ties, etc., that could get drawn into the airvents. To make sure long hair does not get drawn into theair vents, tie back long hair.CLEARING A BLOCKED TUBE / IMPELLERWARNING: To avoid serious personal injury, besure the unit is OFF and unplugged before clearing theimpeller.WARNING: To avoid serious personal injury, alwayswear gloves to protect yourself from the impeller blades orother sharp objects.WARNING: To avoid serious personal injury,always turn the unit off and unplug it before cleaning orservicing. Use a small brush to clean off the outside of theunit. Do not use strong detergents, household cleanersthat contain aromatic oils such as pine and lemon, andsolvents such as kerosene as they can damage plastichousings or handles. Wipe off any moisture with a soft, drycloth.1. Slide the Power/Speed switch down to the OFF positionuntil the unit comes to a complete stop.2. Unplug the unit.3. Remove the blower tube or mulcher tubes and the bag.4. Carefully remove material blocking the tube or impeller.Inspect the blades to ensure no damage has occurred.Rotate the impeller blades by hand to ensure the blockageis completely cleared.5. Reinstall the blower tube or mulcher tubes and the bag.6. Plug the unit back into the power supply.MAINTENANCESERVICING DOUBLE-INSULATED UNITSThis unit is double insulated. In a double-insulated unit,two systems of insulation are provided instead of ground-ing. There is no grounding provided and no means ofgrounding should be added to this unit. Extreme care andknowledge of the system is required when servicing adouble-insulated unit. Service should be performed byqualified service personnel only. Replacement parts for adouble-insulated unit must be identical to the parts theyreplace. Refer any repairs to an authorized service dealer.A double-insulated unit is marked with the words “doubleinsulation” or “double insulated.”CLEANING THE BAG1. Empty the bag after each use to avoid deterioration andobstructing air flow, which will reduce the performance ofthe mulcher.2. Wearing eye protection and a dust mask, clean the bagas needed. Turn the bag inside out after initial emptyingand vigorously shake out dust and debris.3. Wash the bag once a year, or more often if needed:a. Remove the bag.b. Turn bag inside out.c. Hang it up.d. Hose it down thoroughly.e. Leave it hanging to dry.f. Turn bag right-side out and reinstall.CLEANING THE UNITSTORAGEINSPECT EXTENSION CORDSInspect all extension cords periodically. Look closely fordeterioration, cuts or cracks in the insulation. Inspect theconnectors for damage. Replace cords if defective ordamaged.The debris will flow into the bag. Items such as smallleaves and twigs will be mulched as they pass throughthe fan housing. For longer bag life and increasedperformance, empty the bag often.Store the unit locked up to prevent unauthorized use ordamage.Store the unit in a dry, well-ventilated area.Store the unit out of the reach of children
