This prevents accidentalremoval of the electrical cord.2. Plug the female end of the electrical cord into thereceptacle at the back of the unit.STARTING/STOPPING THE BLOWER/MULCHERThis unit is equipped with a three-way (OFF/ LOW/HIGH) switchSlide the switch all the forward down for ON.Slide the switch forward to the first position forLOW speeds up to 150 MPH (241Kph).Slide the switch forward to the second position forHIGH speeds up to 235 MPH (378Kph).Once the unit is plugged in, stand in the operatingposition. Slide the power/speed switch to LOW orHIGH to start the unit. To stop the unit, slide theswitch to OFF. Operator is wearing proper clothing, such as boots,safety glasses or goggles, ear/hearing protection,gloves, long pants and a long sleeve shirtHOLDING THE BLOWER/MULCHERBefore operating the unit, stand in the operating position.Check for the following:WARNING: To avoid serious personal injury, weargoggles or safety glasses at all times when operating thisunit. Wear a face mask or dust mask in dusty locations.WARNING: To prevent serious personal injury ordamage to the unit, make sure the blower tube or themulcher tubes and the bag are in place before operatingthe unit.The bag is installed and zipped closed (when usedas a mulcher).Be sure the bag is zipped closed before operatingthe unit.Assure the unit is not directed at anybody or anyloose debris before starting the unit.Verify that the unit is in good working condition.Make sure the tubes and guards are in place andsecure.Always hold the unit with both hands when operat-ing.Keep a firm grip on both the front and rear handle orgrips.To reduce the risk of hearing loss associated withsound level(s), hearing protection is required.Use the shoulder strap when using unit as amulcher.Operate power equipment only at reasonablehours—not early in the morning or late at nightwhen people might be disturbed. Comply with timeslisted in local ordinances. Usual recommendationsare 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Saturday.To reduce noise levels, limit the number of pieces ofequipment used at any one time.To reduce noise levels, operate power blowers atthe lowest possible speed to do the job.Use rakes and brooms to loosen debris beforeblowing.In dusty conditions, slightly dampen surfaces.Conserve water by using power blowers instead ofhoses for many lawn and garden applications,including areas such as gutters, screens, patios,grills, porches, and gardens.Watch out for children, pets, open windows orfreshly washed cars, and blow debris safely away.Clean up after using blowers and other equipment.Dispose of debris appropriately.NOTE: Please ensure that the Mulch/VacuumGate is completely closed and locked.
