You must shift the belt inward to the third steps.1. Make sure the power cord is removed from the outletin your shop.2. With the belt guard raised, rotate the motor pulleyCOUNTERCLOCKWISE with your left hand whilepushing on the belt with your right hand.3. Continue to rotate the pulley while pushing on thebelt until it "climbs'" down into the third step of themotor pu ffey.4. Now rotatethe spindle pulley CLOCKWISE with yourright hand while pushing on the belt with your lefthand. The belt will climb up into the third step of thespindle pulley.To make the lathe go faster, the belt must be shifted outward.1. Rotate the spindle putley CLOCKWISE with yourright hand. Pull on the belt while rotating the pulleyuntil it climbs clown into the next smaller step.2. Nowrotatethe motor pulleyCOUNTERCLOCKWlSEwith yourleft handwhile pulling on the belt with yourright hand.
