PRE-OPERATIONFill-Up with FRESH GasolineLift the seat deck to access thefuel cap and tank.Remove the fuel tank cap and fillthe tank with fresh fuel. Afterfueling, securely install the capand wipe up any fuel that mayhave spilled. See the Operator’s Manual for fuelrecommendations.The single most common service issue is stale orcontaminated fuel! Fuel should not be more than 30days old. Use fuel stabilizer to extend the life of yourfuel, and always store fuel in an approved, sealed, plasticgas can. Proper care,performance tips, and safety information are located inthis important document.Check the Tire PressureReduce the tire pressures to thepressures shown below. Tires are over-inflated for shipping purposes and mustbe set to the correct pressures foroptimum traction.Rear Tire Pressure: 10-12 PSIFront Tire Pressure: 18-20 PSICheck Engine Oil LevelNote: Engine is shipped with oil. Add10W-30 premium engine oil if oil level islow. See MAINTENANCE for completeengine oil specifications and maintenancerequirements.Lift the seat deck (Figure 12) to accessthe engine compartment.Clean the area around the dip stick/oil filltube. Remove the dip stick from the oil filltube and wipe the dip stick with a clean rag.Insert the dip stick into the oil fill tube (thread in or pushdown completely).Remove and check the engine oil level. Oil level shouldbe between Full and Add marks. If necessary, add oil tothe oil fill tube.Replace and fully secure the dip stick.Charge the BatteryLift the seat deck to access the battery.If the unit is being put into service afterthe month and year indicated on thebattery date tag (located on top ofbattery) charge the battery for one hourat 6-10 amps. Refer to the SERVICE &ADJUSTMENTS section of this manual for batterycharging information.9
