Find yourmanufacturer in the list of TV SetupCodes and begin with the first codelisted. If that code does not work,repeat these steps with the next codelisted. Or scan for a code using thesteps in Scanning for Codes.1. Hold the TV key until both devicekeys begin to flash. Then release theTV key.2. Enter the four-digit code for your TV.After you press the first digit, the TVkey lights up and remains on. Whenyou press the last digit, if the code isvalid, the TV key fl ashes three times.3. Test the remote to make sure that itcontrols the TV. If the functions donot work, try the next code listed.If none of the codes for your TV work,try the steps in Scanning for Codes.Scanning for Codes to Programthe TVThe AT3400 can scan all the codes foryour TV and find the best match. Usethe steps below, or see the steps inProgramming the AT3400 Manually.1. Make sure that your TV is poweredon.2. Hold the TV key until both devicekeys begin to flash. Then release theTV key.3. Press the Power key. The TV keystops flashing and remains on.4. Point the remote at your TV.5. Hold the  or  key until your TVturns off.6. If the TV has been turned off inStep 5, then press and release theOK key to lock the code. The TVkey fl ashes three times. Press thePower key to turn your TV back on.Test the remote.7. If the functions do not work properly,try again from step 1.Programming Volume ControlBy default, your volume buttons operatethe set-top box, not the TV. Followthese steps if you want to controlvolume through your TV. A TV must beprogrammed into the remote beforechanges can be made to VolumeControl.1. Hold the STB key until both device keysbegin to flash. Then release the STBkey.2. Hold the  key and press the OK key.The STB key flashes. Release bothkeys.3. Press the Volume + key. A diagram inside the batterycompartment of the remote indicatesproper placement of the batteries.Know Your RemoteThe diagram below describes each key onyour remote. Functions may vary betweendifferent services.Refer to the user guide for your set-topfor descriptions of specific functions.1 Select TV operating keys2 Turns the currently selected deviceon and off3 Select set-top box operating keys4 Go to specific channels or menuitems5 View the EPG6 Move through on-screen menus7 View more info8 Display the menu9 Go to the last channel viewed10 Change the channel up and down11 Control the recorded program12 For future usetogether. Line up the AT3400 end-to-endwith the second remote controlyou want to learn from, as shownbelow. Make sure the heads areone to two inches apart.2. Press and hold the TV key on theAT3400 until both device keys(TV, STB) begin to flash. Thenrelease the TV key.3. Press and release the GREEN/LRN key.4. Press the key on the AT3400that you want to learn the newcommand. For example, if youwant the MUTE key on theAT3400 to learn the TV MUTEcommand from the secondremote, press the MUTE key onthe AT3400. The TV key LEDblinks once to indicate that theAT3400 is ready to learn thecommand.5. On the second remote, press andhold the key that you want theAT3400 to learn (in this example,MUTE) until the TV key on theAT3400 blinks three times.GoInteractiveLRNRecordingsListRecordRWD BACK SKIPSTOP PAUSE PLAYFFVOD6. Continue learning other keys fromthe second remote by pressingthe next button to teach on theAT3400 and repeating step 5.Note: The TV LED blinks once ifthere was an error in the learningprocess. In this case, repeat steps4 and 5.7. Once the AT3400 has learned allthe buttons, press the GREEN/LRN key. The TV LED blinksthree times to confirm theprogramming. Now, test all thebuttons to make sure they learnedcorrectly.Learning Function – ClearingCommandsTo clear individual learnedcommands:1. Hold the TV key until both devicekeys begin to flash. Then releasethe TV key.2. Press the GREEN/LRN key.3. Press the key that you want toclear, then press it a second time.The TV LED blinks three times.4. Repeat step 3 for each key youwant to clear. Press the GREEN/LRN key. The TV LED blinks threetimes.To clear all the learned commands:1. Hold the TV key until both devicekeys begin to flash. Then release theTV key.2. Press the GREEN/LRN key.3. Hold the TV key for more than 3seconds. The TV LED blinks threetimes.Note: The AT3400 only learnsfunctions after the TV is set. It doesnot work in the factory default mode.If the AT3400 has Channel Lockenabled, the Numeric keys, Recentkey, and Channel+ and Channel-keys are not learned.Handling Disposable BatteriesThis product may contain disposablebatteries. Heed the following warningand Battery Safety and Battery Disposalinstructions.WARNING: There is danger ofexplosion if the battery is mishandledor incorrectly replaced. Replace onlywith the same type of battery. Do notdisassemble it or attempt to rechargeit outside the system. Do not crush,puncture, dispose of in fire, shortthe external contacts, or expose towater or other liquids.
