You do not need toenter a 1 for long distance calls.Dialing a NumberDo one of the following then dial the number:§ Press the New Call softkey.§ Press the (unlit) Speakerphone button.Redialing NumbersPress the Redial softkey. The phone dials the number it last called.Calling Internal Extensions from the Voice Enabled Directory1. Dial your voice-enabled directory extension, usually 8090.2. At the voice prompt, speak the name of the person you want to call.§ If the system finds a single match, it plays the greeting for the person andautomatically transfers you to that person’s extension.§ If there are multiple matches, the system plays the greeting for the firstmatching person. If the greeting matches the person you want to call, speakYes, and you will be connected to the person’s extension; if not, speak No, andthe system presents the greeting of the next matching person.§ If the system cannot find a match, try speaking the name again, or just theperson’s first or last name.Ending CallsThere are multiple ways to end acall on your phone.Perform one of the following options to end a call:§ Press the End Call softkey.§ Press the lit Speakerphone button.Answering CallsThere are multiple ways to answercalls on the phone.Answering a Ringing CallTo answer a ringing call, do one of the following:§ Press the unlit Speakerphone button.§ Press the Answer softkey.Call WaitingIf a second call arrives while you are on another call, the name of the second callerdisplays and the LEDs on the Sound Base flash green. To answer the second calland put the first call on hold, press the flashing amber line button . Press the linebutton again to switch between the two calls.Muting Calls You can mute your phone using the Mute button. This allows you to listen to allparties on a call but prevents them from hearing any noise coming from your line.Press Mute on either the Display Control Unit or the Sound Base to toggle Muteon and off. When Mute is on, the Mute button and the LED indicators glow red.Placing Calls on HoldNote: When a call is on hold for anextended period of time, you willsee and hear both visual andaudible alerts.1. Press the Hold softkey. The hold icon displays.2. To resume the held call, press the Resume softkey.
