Check that all areas around the machine are safe.2. Check that the drive clutch lever is in the "STOP" posi-tion.3. Firmly move the gear shift lever to any forward orreverse gear shift position.Partially engaged gears may cause failures oraccidents. When the shift gears cannot befully engaged, do not force gears into posi-tions. Move the drive clutch lever slightly tothe "RUN" position, then slowly repeat gearshifting.DANGER4. Move the drive clutch lever slowly to the "RUN" positionto start the vehicle.Do not move the drive clutch lever abruptly.The engine may stall.NOTICE5. Adjust the speed by moving the throttle lever slowlyfrom "LOW" toward "HI" position.
