The signal may be degraded when passingthrough walls or floors.• Install the machine as far as possible from digitalcordless phones, microwave ovens or otherequipment that emits radio waves.Connecting the telephone line (only for machinesthat support faxes)In certain circumstances, this machine may not be ableto communicate via some telephone lines or in someregions. One such example is when the total resistanceof the telephone line and the machine exceeds 1700Ω.In this event, contact your dealer or servicerepresentative.• This machine conforms to an analog telephone linestandard and can only be connected to ordinarysubscriber telephone lines. Connecting the machineto a business line or other dedicated line may resultin faults. Always check the line before connecting.About cables• Use a modular cable that is shorter than 3 meters.• Use a USB cable that is shorter than 3 meters.Power SupplyWARNINGUsing the power plug and cord correctlyImproper use may result in a fire or electric shock.• Check that the power supply used for the machine issafe and has a stable voltage.• Use only a power supply that meets the specifiedvoltage requirements.• Connect the machine to a securely grounded poweroutlet using the power cord provided.• Do not use power cords other than the cord provided.• The power cord provided should only be used withthis machine.• If you plug this machine into a power outlet withmultiple sockets, do not use the remaining socketsto connect other devices.• Do not use extension cords.• Run the power cord so as to avoid any risk of trippingover the cord.• Do not modify, pull, unduly bend or otherwisedamage the power cord.• Do not place heavy objects on the power cord.• Do not bundle the power cord or tie it in a knot.• Do not run the power cord close to a heatingappliance.• Do not plug in and unplug the power connectorfrequently.• Do not subject the power connector to strongimpacts.• Plug the power plug fully into the power outlet,ensuring that it is securely inserted.• Do not touch the machine during a thunderstorm.EnKr
